Banker, Dies
at CarpenterCARPENTER, IOWA - Funeral services for Lincoln N. Priem, 61, president of the Carpenter Savings Bank, will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Deer Creek Lutheran Church, with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery at St. Ansgar. He died Tuesday night.
Mr. Priem served for many years on the town council, was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion, the Mitchell County Farm Bureau and was owner and manager of the Carpenter Implement and Lumber yard.
Survivors include the widow, a daughter, Mrs. Vern Tenold, a son Eugene and two grandchildren, all of Carpenter, two brothers, John of Ancortes, Washington, and Frederick of Seattle, Washington, and three sisters, Mrs. Rose Pribbenow and Miss Clare Priem, of Nora Springs, and Mrs. Emma Gerlach, of St. Ansgar.

Carpenter Is Dead;
Funeral SaturdayCARPENTER, IOWA — Lincoln N. Priem, 61, owner and manager of the Carpenter Lumber and Implement Co., died suddenly Tuesday night while returning home from a basketball game at Carpenter. He had surgery last summer and had a cardiac condition.
Funeral rites will be Saturday at 3 p. m. at Deer Creek Lutheran Church northwest of Carpenter, with burial in St. Ansgar Lutheran Cemetery.
Mr. Priem was president of the Carpenter Savings Bank, a former town councilman, member of the Farm Bureau, member of Deer Creek Lutheran Church and of the American Legion.
He was born December 10, 1892, to Frederick and Barbara Priem on a farm in Newburg Township. He attended St. Ansgar High school.
Following the death of his father, he assisted on home farm. Then he was employed at Nora Springs. He joined a partnership to form the Durkee and Priem Lumber and Implement Co., following World War I service, later buying out his partner's interest at the latter's death, and had since been sole owner.
Mr. Priem married Ina Culbertson December 22, 1922.
Survivors include his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Vern Tenold; a son, Eugene; two grandchildren, all of Carpenter; two brothers, Jake, Anacortes, Washington; Frederick, Seattle, Washington, and three sisters, Mrs. Rose Pribbenow and Miss Clare, both of Nora Springs, and Mrs. Emma Gerlach, St. Ansgar.
Several brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
