Anna (Biedermann) Cordes 1861-1951
Mitchell – Mrs. Anna Cordes, 89,. Longtime Mitchell County resident, died in a Morrison, Ill., hospital, where she had been following a fractured hip. Funeral probably will be Saturday. The body is at the Champion Funeral Home.
Nee, Anna Biedermann, she was born August 30, 1861, at Boscobel, Wis. There she spent her girlhood and was married to William Cordes in 1885.
The couple came to a farm south of Grafton in Worth county, where they farmed for many years, then farmed near Mitchell. With the exception of a three year period, the couple lived all their married life near Grafton and Mitchell. Her husband died in 1921 and since that time the deceased has resided at Mitchell with a son, Walter, and family, and at Fennimore, and Yorktown, Ill., with her son-in-law and daughter, Rev. and Mrs. Reinhart Schedtler.
She leaves three sons, Len and Edwin, Arlington; Walter, Mitchell; her daughter; Mrs. Schedtler; one brother, Theodore Biedermann, Milwaukee, Wis.; one sister; Mrs. Charles Glassel, Leslie, Mich.; 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Preceding her also were two daughters; Mrs. Wilma Stokes and Mrs. Bertha Miesland five brothers; Henry; Will; Fred; Leonard and George Biedermann; and a sister Mrs. Lasetta Brunson.Mason City Globe Gazette, Thursday January 25, 1951

Anna and her husband William Cordes are buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Mitchell, Mitchell County, Iowa
