CHARGES FILES IN FATAL ROAD CRASH

Cedar Falls – The Iowa Highway Patrol filed charges Tuesday against David Dierks, 20, Clinton, for failing to have his car under control in connection with an accident that claimed the life of Boyd Mark VanVoorhis, 23, Osage.

A student at Iowa State Teachers College, Dierks was charged with being the driver of a car that went out of control Saturday night on U.S. 218 near Janesville and struck a bridge railing
VanVoorhis suffered skull injuries and died in a Rochester, Minn., hospital Monday.

Brian Mark VanVoorhis was the son of Mark Theodore VanVoorhis and Anne (Krapek) VanVoorhis.
He was buried in the Osage City Cemetery.
