PLAN RITES FOR MRS. LAUGHLIN
OSAGE WOMAN DIES FOLLOWING OPERATIONOsage – Funeral services for Mrs. Clarence (Bud) Laughlin, 41, who died Friday morning at the University hospital at Iowa City following an operation a week ago, are tentatively set for Monday afternoon. The body is at the Champion Funeral Home.
She was born in January, 1902, in Osage, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Judd Bailey and spent her girlhood and received her education in Osage. She was married in 1920 in Osage.
Surviving besides her husband are ten children; Robert and Stewart, both in the service; Clarissa; Daisy Lou; Glen; William; Richard; Kenneth; Mary and Margaret, at home; four brothers; Roy Bailey, Mason City; Stanley Bailey, Janesville, Minn.; Charles, Osage; and James, in the service; and two sisters; Mrs. Willard Hogan and Mrs. Dale Morse, Osage.

DIES AT IOWA CITYMrs. Clarence (Bud) Laughlin, 41, died at the University hospital at Iowa City last Friday, after an illness of only a few days. She suffered an attack of appendicitis and was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where an immediate operation was performed, but complications developed, and after hovering between life and death for several days, she passed away.
Margaret Bailey-Laughlin was born in Osage on January 28, 1902. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Judd Bailey. She received her education and lived all of her life in Osage. In 1920 she was married to Clarence Austin Laughlin.
Surviving, besides her husband are their ten children -- Robert, pfc, stationed at Camp Davis, N.C., who came for the funeral; Stewart, in the service and whose location at this time is unknown; Clarice, Daisy, Glen, William, Richard, Kenneth, Mary and Margaret.
She is survived also by her parents; four brothers -- Roy Bailey, Mason City, Stanley Bailey, of Janesville, Minnesota, Charles Bailey of Osage and James Bailey, of Dodge City Kansas -- also two sisters, Mrs. Willard Hogan and Mrs. Dale Morse, both of Osage.
Funeral service was held at the Champion funeral home Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., conducted by the Rev. T. P. Solem, and burial was in the Osage cemetery.
