Woman Dies
at Riceville

LITTLE CEDAR, IOWA — Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Hawkins Winer, 76, longtime resident of this community, will be held Sunday at 2 p, m. at Ihe Methodist Church, with burial in the Liberty Township Cemetery. She died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Lynn Fesenmeyer, at Riceville, Thursday, after a long illness.

Bessie Hawkins, daughter of the late George and Orletta Hawkins, was born on a farm near Stacyville, on September 22, 1876, She moved with her parents, to a farm east of town. She was married to John Winer on December 19, 1893, and they continued to farm in this vicinity.

After caring for her invalid mother for three and one-half years she moved to her present home in town. She suffered a paralytic stroke May 24.

Survivors are two daughters and two sons, Mrs. Mabel Faas, of Stacyville; Irving Winer of McIntire; Sydney Winer, Little Cedar; and Mrs. Leona Fessenmeyer, of Riceville; 15 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
