WHEELER DIES AFTER ILLNESS
OSAGE MAN WAS 91 SUCCUMBS AT OSAGE

Osage – Walter Wheeler, 91, died Sunday evening following an illness of two years. He moved to Osage from Riceville 28 years ago and was actively engaged in business until age 89.

He is survived by three grandchildren; Mrs. Lillian Savage, Stroudsburg, Pa., Vernon Roe, Birmingham, Ala., Walter Roe, Concord, N. Car., and several great grandchildren including Arlene and Robert Roe of Osage.

Walter Wheeler was born December 1849 in Wisconsin according to the 1900 US Census: Jenkins, Mitchell Co., Iowa. He married Lillian Patterson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Patterson early pioneers in the Grove District near Riceville.
