MYRTLE E. ANDERSON

OSAGE - Myrtle E. Anderson, 90, of Osage, died Tuesday (Feb. 27, 2001) at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Champion-Bucheit Fuenral Home in Osage, with the Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Osage Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Myrtle was born Sept. 21, 1910, near the town of Elkader, the daughter of Gilbert and Thealina (Wilson) Nelson. The family moved to the Osage area in 1924.

Myrtle was united in marriage to John G. Anderson on Oct. 4, 1944, in Austin, Minn. They both worked and lived the rest of their lives in the Osage area. Both John and Myrtle were long time members of the American Legion and the Legion Auxiliary Post 278 in Osage.

Myrtle loved to garden and loved flowers, visiting with old friends and making new friends. Myrtle had a great love of God and all the things that He created. For all these things, Myrtle will be missed dearly by all.

She is survived by one son, Kenneth E. Anderson and his special friend, Bonnie Fischer, of Osage; a sister, Orpha Robbinson, of San Jose, Calif.; two grandsons, Ronald Anderson and his wife, Shelly, of Osage, and Rodney Anderson and his wife, Sharon, of Osage; three great-grandchildren, David Anderson, of Belmond, Nicki Greenfield, of Lake Mills, and Erin Anderson, of Osage; two great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Helen Anderson, of Osage.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; infant son, Robert; five sisters, Nella Cheeseman, Hilma Martie, Gladys Martin, Edith Novak and Arleta Miller; and one brother, Gerhart Nelson.
