MRS. EVERSON DIES AT MONA
WAS LIFELONG MEMBER OF
LUTHERAN CHURCH

Lyle, Minn. – Mrs. I. K. Everson, 88, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. H. McKee of Mona, Iowa, Monday afternoon, after an illness of several weeks.

She is survived by two daughters; Mrs. McKee and Mrs. Oliver Anderson of Minneapolis; three sons; Charles of Mona, Iowa; Ervin of Austin, Minn.; and Olaf of Canada; a large number of grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. One brother, Chris Sampson, Lyle, Minn., also survives.

She was preceded in death by her husband several years ago.

Mrs. Everson has been a lifelong member of the Mona Lutheran church and was the last to be on the honor roll of the Mona Ladies aid.

Although confined the past year to her wheel chair, she had exceptionally good eyesight and was able to read and do very fine needle work without the aid of glasses.

It appears from the 1860 Census: Nevada, Mower, Minnesota, that Ann may have been the daughter of Ole and Mary Sampson. It’s showing Ole Sampson, 33, born Norway; Mary, 28, born Norway, Anna, 6, born Minnesota; Gunella, 5, born Minn.; Lam, 4, born Minn.; and Catherine, 2, born Minn.

This would agree with the 1925 Iowa Census, Otranto, Mitchell; where Ann Eversons parents are shown as Ole Sampson and mother Marrit Swingley, both born Norway (note these spellings on the 1925 census are usually close but not always correct).

It is not known whether she was married twice (the name Bjorndalen) or whether that is part of her birth name.
