FARMER OF OSAGE VICINITY SUCCUMBS WAS GERMAN NATIVEOsage – Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Champion Funeral home for Tom Felper, 72, who died Wednesday night at a hospital in Grinnell.
Born in Germany, Mr. Felper came to this country at the age of four. He farmed near McIntire.Surviving are seven sons: Loyal of Grinnell; Dennis of Redlands, Cal.; Lee of Watertown, Wis.; Lyle and Louis of Malcom; Bernard of Missouri; Thomas of LeRoy, Minn.; three daughters: Mrs. Leonard Whitaker of Rockford, Ill.; Mrs. Ray Hamilton of Rose Creek, Minn.; Ella of Cresco; one step-daughter, Mrs. Frank Adams of St. Ansgar. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery.

#3:Thomas Felper, Old Resident of County, Is Dead
Thomas Felper,who had lived in Mitchell County many years, died at the home of his son, Louis, at Malcom last Thursday,a nd Saturday funeral services were held for Mr. Felper at the Champion Funeral Home here, with burial in the Osage Cemetery.
The Rev. John D. Kern, who had charge of the last rites for Mrs. Felper, his wife, nine years ago, again performed that duty for the family in the funeral service of Mr. Felper.
Thomas Felper was born in Germany October 28, 1867, and came with his parents to America when 2 years of age. He grew to manhood in Wisconsin, but located in Mitchell county when a young man. He spent the rest of his life in this vicinity.
He was united in marriage to Mrs. Nina Rolf, January 17, 1903. To this union were born ten children: Dennis, of Redlands, Calif.; Lee, of Watertown, Wis.; Lyle and Louis, of Malcom; Thomas, of LeRoy, Minn.; Bernard, in Illinois; Mrs. Roy Hamilton, Adams, Minn.; Mrs. Leonard Whitaker, Rockford, Illinois; and Mrs. Ella Stanbrow, of Cresco. One son, Wilmer, died eight years ago.
He is also survived by one step-daughter, Mrs. Frank Adams, of St. Ansgar; four sisters in Wisconsin, and twenty grandchildren.
Three months ago he went to visit his sons at Malcom. He became ill and his trouble was diagnosed as cancer of the stomach. He passed away at a hospital in Grinnell June 5, 1940, at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 16 days.
All of his children were present at the funeral.
