PROMINENT STACYVILLE BUSINESSMAN TO BE BURIED AT CARPENTER

Stacyville – Herman Stehn, 69, died here Friday night. Services were arranged for 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church with the Rev. Marjory York of Little Cedar officiating and burial in the Stehn family lot at Carpenter.

Mr. Stehn had been in business here 40 years. He had been a member of the school board for 20 years and of the city council for 16 years. He was secretary of the Stacyville opera house for 30 years after its organization. He suffered his first stroke four years ago.

Surviving are his wife, three sons, Loren, Burton and Hardy, all of Stacyville; two daughters, Mrs. Virgil Fretthem of Austin, Minn., and Marie, at home; five brothers, Ernest of San Pedro, Cal., Louis of Marshalltown, George and August, both of Northwood, and Alfred of Carpenter; one sister, Mrs. Nannie Dobson of Marshalltown, and two grandchildren.
