Millie (nee Buttolph) Harris 1895-1960

MRS. HARRIS RITES MONDAY AT RICEVILLE

Riceville – Mrs. George Harris died Friday night at her home here. The former Millie Buttolph, she was born in Jamestown Township and had lived there all her life. She was married November 9, 1920, and the couple observed their 40th anniversary with open house last Sunday.

Surviving are her husband, a brother, Robert Buttolph, a sister, Mrs. Glenn (Mary) Torney, both of Riceville. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m., at the Free Methodist Church, Riceville, with burial in Riverside Cemetery.

Millie Buttolph was the daughter of Ulysses and Frances Buttolph. According to the 1900 US Census, she was born December 1895. According to the 1925 Iowa Census her mother’s maiden name was McNeil.
