Death: Dec. 24, 1988, Kensett, Worth County, Iowa.

Funeral services for Gary E. Luther, 37, of Kensett, who died Saturday, December 24, at St. Joseph Mercy Hosptial, Mason City, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident, were held Tuesday, December 27, at United Methodist church, Kensett, with the Rev. Dennis Nicholson officiating.

Mr. Luther was born January 5,1951, in Mitchell County, the son of Earl and Evelyn {Walswick} Luther. He attended St. Ansgar and Carpenter schools and received his GED from North Iowa Area Community College, Mason City. He worked for several years for Farm Service and for two years at Larson Manufacturing, Lake Mills.
Most recently, he had worked for Carroll George at Northwood.

He was a member of 1133 Transportation Company of the Iowa National Guard, the United Methodist church of Kensett, Kensett Fire Department, and the Kensett KACP.

Survivors include his wife, Emilie of Kensett; two daughters, Erin and Sue, and son, Jesse, all of Kensett; a daughter, Robin, and son John, both of Scottsdale, Arizona; his mother, Mrs. Orville {Evelyn} Stromley of Kensett; one sister, Betty Severson of Alma, Arkansas; three brothers: Larry of Kensett, Dennis of Joice, and
Roger of Rock Falls.

He was preceded in death by his father, two sisters, and his grandparents.

Burial was in the Kensett Cemetery.

The family requests memorials be given to the
Gary E. Luther Memorial Fund.

Gary was killed in a single automobile accident after a Christmas Party. He hit the bridge outside of Northwood, Iowa.

His wife was going after him so he wouldn't have to drive home. He had left before she got there.
