STACYVILLE, IOWA - Kenneth Nicholas Theobald, 69, of Stacyville died on October 19, 2010, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 23, at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, with the Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Visitation Cemetery, Stacyville.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, October 22, at Visitation Catholic Church, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, is in charge of arrangements, 641-713-4920.

#2:STACYVILLE, IOWA - Kenneth Nicholas Theobald, 69, of Stacyville died Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage, at 3 p.m.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 23, at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, with the Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Visitation Cemetery, Stacyville.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 22, at Visitation Catholic Church from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Kenneth Nicholas Theobald was born on Dec. 5, 1940, in Stacyville, the son of Carl and Irma (Durben) Theobald. Ken graduated from Visitation High School in 1959. He was a member of the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts. His favorite pastimes growing up included playing sports, fishing, driving and spending time with friends.
After high school, Ken enlisted in the Army. He attended basic training at Fort Hood, Texas, and then spent 19 months stationed in Fort Richardson, Alaska, as a member of the 23rd Battle Group, Second Armored Division. After being discharged from the Army, Ken returned to Stacyville to join his dad, Carl, and brother, Glen, in the family business.
Ken worked in parts and sales at Theobald Implement Co. until 1985. At that time, Ken and his son, Todd, started Theobald Custom Manufacturing, where Ken worked until his retirement in 2005.
During his time in sales Ken told many stories, traveled many miles and met hundreds of great people, many of whom he kept in touch with throughout his lifetime. Ken loved fishing, hunting, playing cards, making others laugh, traveling and spending time with his family. Later in life, Ken enjoyed family gatherings, visits with friends, tending to his flowers in the backyard, feeding the birds and time spent on the Gulf Coast.
Ken met Ann Hebert of Caspian, Michigan, at St. Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester, Minn., and the two were married on July 17, 1965, at St. Cecelia's Church in Caspian, Michigan.
Ken and Ann have four children: Todd (Julie) Theobald of Osceola, Wis.; Lynn (Phil) Baldus of St. Ansgar, Iowa; Amy (Chris) May of Parkersburg, Iowa; and Jill (Rusty) Theobald of Denver, Iowa. Christel (Sebastian) Wassmann of Göttingen, Germany, is another special member of the family. Grandchildren are Chantal Wilson, Theo and Kira Baldus, C.J. and Nicole May, and Austin and Jaylee Fromm, and one great-granddaughter, Savannah Wilson.
Ken is survived by his sister, Helen Hemann, of Austin, Minn., and his brothers Glen Theobald of Lake City, Minn., and Roger Theobald of Elkhorn, Neb. Ken also has many beloved nieces and nephews.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Irma Theobald, his in-laws, Dominic and Lorraine Hebert, his brothers, Robert and Roy Theobald, and his brother-in-law, Willie Hemann.
Through his death, Ken will continue to help others through the donation of his body to the Mayo Clinic. His laughter and smile will be greatly missed.Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, is in charge of arrangements; 641-713-4920.
