RICEVILLE, IOWA - Wilma Delores Satern, 89, of rural Riceville, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2010, at the Riceville Family Care & Therapy Center in Riceville.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the McIntire United Methodist Church in McIntire, with the Rev. Pam Kranzler officiating. Burial will be in the Wayne Cemetery in rural McIntire.

Friends may call at Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville on Tuesday during the hours of 5 to 7 p.m. and one hour before services at the church.

Wilma was born February 11, 1921 to Trigvie (TM) and Marie Torgerson at Bode, Iowa. Wilma was baptized and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church and graduated from Bode High School. On Feb. 15, 1939, she was united in marriage to Maynard Satern. They lived in the Bode area until Maynard returned from World War II when they moved to rural Riceville to farm.

Wilma was a big help on the farm and a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Larry Anderson, a son and daughter-in-law Steve and Betty Satern and a grand son-in-law Jamie Buser.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years Maynard, son Gary (Loretta) Satern of Mason City, daughter Kathy Runde of Jefferson City, Mo., 12 grandchildren Gene (Jody) Satern, Kim (James) Knudsen, Deanna (Bob) Nost, David (Cindy) Anderson, Sheila (Brian) Jones, Daphne Buser, Kelly (Kurt) Wix, Angie (John) Milewsky, Randy (Miki) Runde, Kristy (Mark) Zeitler, Danny Anderson and Kari (Dayne) Olson, 30 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
