Nellie I. Hanson

Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 4, 1984, for Mrs. Nellie I. Hanson, 90, of St. Ansgar, who died Monday, January 2, 1984, at a St. Ansgar nursing home.

She was born on July 4, 1893 in Bertram. The Rev. Harold Boldon of the Austin, Minnesota, Church of Christ officiated at the service, and burial was in the St. Ansgar City Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, Merle Hanson of Rochester, Minnesota; and a grandson.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 4 for Nellie Hanson at the Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar with burial at the St. Ansgar City Cemetery. Pastor Harold G. Boldon officiated. She died Monday, January 2, 1984, at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar.

Nellie Irene Parker Hanson was born July 4, 1893 at Bertram, the daughter of Charles and Frances Boxwell Parker.

She was united in marriage to Marcus Hanson of rural Lyle, Minnesota on November 19, 1919. Nellie spent most of her adult life in Osage where they operated the Stop and Save Grocery. On retiring they spent time in Tracy, and Rochester, Minnesota before moving to the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar.

She is preceded in death by her husband and three sisters.

Survivors include one son, Merle Hanson of Rochester, Minnesota; one grandson, Gary Hanson of Plymouth, Minnesota; one sister, Ruth Johnson of Osage and one brother, Harold Parker of Llano, California.

Nellie Hanson was the daughter of Charles O. Parker (1868-1929), and Francis Irene (Boxwell) Parker (1871-1969); both buried in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.
