STACYVILLE, IOWA - Norbert Klapperich, 81, of Stacyville, died Monday, October 11, 2010, at Stacyville Community Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 15, at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, with the Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial will be in Visitation Cemetery, Stacyville.

Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m., Thursday, October 14, at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar is in charge of arrangements; 641-713-4920.

Norbert Klapperich, 81, of Stacyville, died October 11, 2010 at Stacyville Community Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, October 15, 2010 at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, Iowa with Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial will be in Visitation Cemetery, Stacyville. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4:00-8:00 PM at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM.

Norbert Klapperich was born July 10, 1929 to Ben and Rose (Weber) Klapperich in Meyer, Iowa. He was the youngest of 10 children. He attended school at Meyer. On September 12, 1956 he married Mary Ann Koenigs at Sacred Heart Church in Meyer, Iowa. To this union 6 children were born.

Norb loved sports all his life and was very active in baseball and golf. He enjoyed watching all the sports his children and grandchildren were in. Norb loved music and was a member of choir both in Meyer and Stacyville. He was a 40 year member of the Forte Milers Barbershop chorus. He was a very good dancer, and together he and Mary Ann had a lot of practice at the Terp Ballroom every Friday night.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Lawerence, Isidore, John, Leo, Fred, and Willie Klapperich, a sister Hildegard Halbach and brother-in-law Marvin Koenigs.

Norb is survived by his wife Mary Ann, 6 children Steve (Laura), Lori (John), Dennis (Monique), Pam (Darren), Brian and Tim; grandchildren Allison and Ben Klapperich, Kathy (Josh) Borders and Donald, Emma and Tess Clarkson; Josh, Taylor and Caleb Groth; one brother Carl (Caddy); one sister Mary Elizabeth; and two sisters-in-law Ester and Estelle.
