Stanley G. Newton

RICEVILLE, IOWA — Stanley G. Newton, 85, of Riceville, died Monday, March 1, 1999, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

Stanley was born on January 14, 1914, in rural Floyd County, the son of Clarence "Cad" and Pearl (Thornberg) Newton.

Stanley married Ruth Baldwin on August 15, 1933, in Grundy Center, Iowa.

Private family services will be held, with the Rev. Gary Bonnerman (SIC) officiating. There will be no visitation. Visits to the home are welcome. Burial will be in the Little Cedar Cemetery.

Champion Funeral Home, 702 State St., Osage, is in charge of arrangements.

Survived by his wife, Ruth; one daughter, Neta (Newton) Wright, of Stockton, Calif.; one son, Jerry Newton and his wife, Joyce, of Riceville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a great-grandson.
