STACYVILLE, IOWA - Martha Ann Jax, 90, died Sunday, June 20, 1999, at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville. Burial will be in Johnsburg Cemetery, Johnsburg, Minnesota.

Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Visitation Church Hall with a rosary at 4 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

OBITUARY-
STACYVILLE, Iowa -- The funeral for Martha Ann Jax, 90, of Stacyville, Iowa, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville. Burial will be in Johnsburg Cemetery, Johnsburg.
She died Sunday (June 20, 1999) in Stacyville Community Nursing Home.
Martha Ann Smith was born June 4, 1909, in Stacyville. She married Leo M. Jax on Nov. 19, 1935, in St. John's Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg. They farmed along the state line until retiring to Stacyville in 1971. She was an avid gardener and a member of the Christian Mothers Society and the Catholic Aid Association.
Surviving are three sons, Gerald of McIntire, Iowa, Eugene of Shoreview, Minn., and Leonard of Woodbury, Minn.; two daughters, Sister Marlys Jax of Rochester, and Helen (Mrs. James) Jackson of Eugene, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Smith of Stacyville and five brothers, Leo, Raymond, Bernard and Gilbert, all of Stacyville and Gerwin of Mitchell, Iowa.

Friends may call Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the church hall where a rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. and a prayer service held at 7:30 p.m.
