OSAGE, IOWA — Evelyn M. Bohning, 91, died Saturday, March 28, 1998, at the Faith Home, Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Osage, with the Rev. Dennis Hanson and the Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Champion Funeral Home and also one hour before services at the church on Tuesday.
Evelyn was born January 24, 1907, in Walcott Township, near Faribault, Minnesota, the daughter of John R. and Sophia (Wang) Anderson. She grew up near Faribault, Minnesota, and attended schools in that area. She was confirmed at the Eklund Lutheran Church. She attended the Minneapolis Business College and worked as a secretary for the Carnation Company in Northfield, Minn.
She married Ellsworth Klemesrud on Dec. 16, 1939. He died in August of 1961. She married Rollin Bohning in June of 1974 at Osage. He died in December of l991.
Evelyn enjoyed gardening, especially flowers. She was a faithful member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and sang in the church choir. She was very active in the church circles and served as the church secretary. She was also a member of the Sons of Norway.
Evelyn is survived by one daughter, Laurinda K. Young, and her husband, Jim, Cedar Falls; three granddaughters, Raina Young, Iowa City, Taya Young, Iowa City, and Caitlin Young, Cedar Falls; one sister, Viola Musegades, Faribault, Minn.; and four brothers, Russell Anderson and his wife, Carol, Albert Lea, Minn., Harold Anderson, Cannon Falls, Minn., LeRoy Anderson, Northfield, Minn., and Donald Anderson and his wife, Loretta, Medford, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Ellsworth and Rollin; a daughter, LaVonne Moody; and a brother, George Anderson.
