RING, Minnie C. 1895-1934

Minnie C. Reckner was born near Acme, Iowa, on November 11, 1895, the daughter of Joseph and Helena Reckner. All of her life was spent in Howard county. Her parents preceded her in death; her father in 1914 and her mother in 1928.

She was baptized and confirmed in St. Peter's Lutheran Church south of Riceville. Truthfully it can be said of her that she was loyal to her savior and a faithful member of her church. At the time of her death she was serving her third year as president of the Ladies Aid.

On May 25, 1927, she was united in holy wedlock to Mr. E. G. Ring of Riceville. Theirs was a truly happy married life, and promised to be even happier when on July 2 [1934] the Lord gave them a baby girl to brighten their home.

But how past human understandings are the ways and dealings of God. On July 30, 1934, he called her to her eternal rest. Her span of life was a comparatively short 38 years, 8 months and 19 days.

Near relatives left behind to mourn her early departure are: Emil, her husband; Mayzee Charlotte, the infant daughter; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Dilly, Acme and Mrs. Lena Ripley, Riceville; and six brothers, Charles, August, and Ben of Charles City; Joe, Herman and Arthur of Riceville.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Walter Leckband, and were held from the Lutheran Church, August 1, 1934. Her remains lie bedded in God's Acre, nearby.
