Loney Funeral
to Be SaturdayOSAGE, IOWA — Funeral services for Mrs. Byron J. Loney, 84, longtime Mitchell County resident, are tentatively set for 3 p.m. Saturday at the Champion Funeral Home. The Rev. Homer Doak will officiate.
She had been in failing health for three years, since she suffered a broken hip. Mrs. Loney was confined to a wheel chair since that time. On Nov. 4, she suffered a paralytic stroke, from which she never recovered. Her left side was paralyzed.
MayBell Florey McLean was born on November 27, 1872, in Oakfield, Wisconsin, the daughter of Robert and Emily McLean. In 1882 the family moved to Iowa, where they lived on a farm five miles northeast of Osage.
On August 15, 1894, she was married to Bryon Loney, Osage. She lived in Mitchell County since she was ten, except for seven years with the family in Kansas.
Survivors include her husband; four children, Mrs. John (Emily) Swan, Los Angeles; Lyle, Osage; Mrs. Merlin (Alma) Angell, Osage, and Lee, Los Angeles. There are eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A son, Robert, died in 1934.
