Mrs. J. S. Schuyler
Died Wednesday,
Ill Many MonthsMrs. John S. Schuyler, one of the best-known women of Osage, passed away at her home, corner of Fifth and Walnut Streets, Wednesday morning at about 9:30 o'clock, after a long illness. More than a year ago Mrs. Schuyler broke her hip in a fall, but had nearly recovered from the injury although she had never regained her strength.
For the past month she has been gradually failing, and the end came after she had hovered between life and death for more than a week. Her children were with her as her daughter, Miss Ruby, returned from Milwaukee, and her son, George, came two weeks ago from Detroit, Mich.
Mr. and Mrs. Schuyler were married November 17, 1885, and last fall observed their golden wedding anniversary. She was born October 15, 1859.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the Methodist church at 1:30 o'clock, in charge of the Reverend Frank Court, pastor, and burial will be made in the cemetery north of Lyle. The Schuylers lived for some time at Lyle in their early married life.
