Drowned Man's Rites At Osage
Funeral Held for Maynard England, 23 of Mitchell

Osage: July 17. The funeral for Maynard England, 23, who was drowned at Mitchell Saturday night was held Tuesday morning in the Sacred Heart Catholic church here, the Rev. Father Martin in Charge.

Mr. England went in swimming in the Cedar river Saturday night soon after supper and was taken with cramps and drowned before his companion could reach him. they were in the deep water just above the dam.

Surviving are the widow and a five months old daughter, Geraldine of Mitchell, also has parents, Mr. and Mrs. William England of Cottage Grove, Wis., who came for the funeral. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery.
