STACYVILLE, IOWA - Regina Anna May, 94, of Stacyville, died Saturday, August 14, 2010, at Stacyville Community Nursing Home in Stacyville, where she had resided for the last 12 days.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 19, 2010, at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville, with the Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial will be in the Visitation Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Visitation Catholic Church with a rosary at 4:15 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Regina's name to Hospice of North Iowa or the Stacyville Community Nursing Home.

Regina Anna May, age 94, of Stacyville, died Saturday, August 14, 2010, at Stacyville Community Nursing Home in Stacyville, where she had resided the last 12 days.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 19, 2010, at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with Rev. John Moser officiating. Regina was born August 19, 1915, on the Bissen Family Farm near Johnsburg, Minnesota, the daughter of John P. and Elizabeth (Schmitz) Bissen. She attended St. John’s grade school in Johnsburg and went to school for two years at Good Counsel Academy in Mankato, Minnesota. Regina was united in marriage to Bernard J. May, November 15, 1938 at Johnsburg, Minnesota. They farmed in the Johnsburg area until retiring to Stacyville in 1977. Regina was a member of Visitation Catholic Church and was a faithful volunteer at the Stacyville Nursing Home.

Regina is survived by nine children, Robert (Audrey) May of Stacyville, Rita (Daniel) McCoy of Rochester, Minnesota, Carol (John) Sullivan of Osage, Ann Wolf of Sheffield, Gerard (Janet) May of Osage, Edward (Teresa) May of Stacyville, Pamela (Richard) Fox of Cedar Rapids, Mark (Rosanne) May of Adams, Minnesota, Cathy (Dan) Moellenbeck of Granger, Iowa; 27 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie Koenigs of Stacyville; three brothers-in-law, Tony May of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Joe Martyniak of Taunton, Mass., and Fred (Dorothy) May of Rose Creek, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bernard in 2002; a son, John in 1974; a great-grandson, Graham McCoy; a son-in-law, Tom Wolf in 2009; and a brother, Arthur.
