IRVING R BUNDY
Irving Roche Bundy, 81, 255 Spectacle drive, RR 1, died Monday in his home after an illness of three years.He was born in St. Ansgar, Iowa December 27, 1878, the son of Dr. A. D. and Mary (Kingsley) Bundy. On August 17, 1907, in Delavan, Wis., he married Genevieve G. Martin, who survives.
Bundy had resided in Porter County for seven years, coming from St. Joseph, Mo. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church, Masonic lodge in St. Joseph, Phi Kappa Psi fraternity and a life member of the American Library association and Missouri Historical society.He was a graduate of Colgate University and the Albany, N.Y., Library school. Bundy taught school in Beloit, Wis., and Osage, Iowa high schools after which he was librarian of the Leavenworth, Kans. Public schools and Kirksville, Mo, State Teachers college. From 1925 to 1952 he was head of the public libraries in St. Joseph.
Surviving besides the widow are two daughters, Mrs. Burton (Catherine) Glueck, East Gary, and Mrs. Ralph (Elizabeth) Arrigo, Chicago; and one granddaughter, Miss Robin Fitzgerald Chicago.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Bartholomew Funeral home with the Rev. O. C. Stara, First Presbyterian church officiating. Burial will be in Graceland CemeteryThe Vidette Messenger, Valparaiso, Indiana, Tuesday, January 5, 1960
