Lime Springs---Funeral Rites will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Methodist church in Lime Springs, for a former New Haven and Riceville resident, Mrs. Will Kapka, 57, who died Tuesday afternoon at Cedar Valley hospital, Charles City, of heart trouble and complications.

Nee Bessie Elliott, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Elliot, at New Haven; lived there for many years, and following her marriage to Will Kapka lived for many years in the New Haven and Riceville territories.

She leaves her husband, five children, Mrs. Roy Grace, McIntire; Ronald, Alva, Iona and Elaine, all of Lime Springs, and seven grandchildren.

Mrs. Wm. Kapka Dies; Funeral Here Friday

Funeral services will be held Friday for Mrs. William Kapka of four miles southwest of Lime Springs, who died Tuesday afternoon at the Cedar Valley hospital in Charles City. A short service will be held at 1:30 at the home, and funeral at 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Lime Springs. Burial at Pleasant Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Kapka had been a hospital patient for two weeks.

OBITUARY OF MRS. WILLIAM C KAPKA
Funeral Largely Attended Here Friday

Bessie Matilda Elliott was born November 12, 1889 in Fayette County, Iowa, and passed away at the Cedar Valley Hospital at Charles City, Iowa, March 11, 1947, at the age of 57 years, 3 months, and 27 days.
With her parents, Franklin and Julia Elliott she moved when a baby from the farm near New Haven, Mitchell, Iowa, where she had spent her entire childhood days.
She was united in marriage to William C. Kapka, June 26, 1907. To this union were born 5 children, Ronald, Elva (Mrs. William Souhrada), Elaine (Mrs. Lyle Blomgren; all of Lime Springs; Dorothy (Mrs. Roy Grace) of Riceville; and Iona (Mrs. Elwyn Jones) of Chester. The family moved to their present home 38 years ago.

Mrs. Kapka was always a willing worker in community activities, serving at one time as County 4-H club leader. Many a heart was lightened, and pain eased by her able and willing hand I time of illness. She was a faithful member of the Methodist Church and S.S.C.S

She leaves to mourn her passing her devoted husband, five children, twelve grandchildren, four sisters and four brothers, and a host of friends. Three brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

The welfare of her family was of greatest importance in the lie of the deceased. Of kind genial disposition, she cared for the wants of her husband and children and set an example of love and kindness. Though in failing health for many months, she was uncomplaining and continued her unselfish devotion. The passing of this devoted wife and loving mother is a severe shock to the surviving husband and children who are left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory.

Services were held Friday March 14th, with prayer at the house and services at the Methodist Church in Lime Springs. Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased, John Wright, Wallace Wright, Glen Funte, Orvel Kapka, Lyle Kapka, and Elmer Lebow.

Relatives attending from a distance wee as follows; Mr. and Mrs. A. Wright and Mrs. Melvin Wright, Weyerhauser, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Mulks, White Water, Wisc.; Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Shephard, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Edgerton; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Elliott; Mr. Dale Elliott; Mr. Harry Elliott; Mrs. Retta Ellittr and Mrs. Milo Gerry all from Waterloo; M. and Mrs. John Wright and Mrs. Orvalle Swancutt and daughter of Charles City; Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Elliott and Mr. Fred Bissen of Rose Creek, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Marion Wright of Stacyville; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Moss and Franklin Wright of Osage and many relatives from Riceville and vicinity. Friends coming from the farthest distance were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Croxton, St. Croix Falls, Wisc.
