Osage: Bert Driscoll 55, Osage, was burned to death when a truck he was driving overturned and caught fire near Hastings, south of St. Paul, Minnesota Monday night.
Driscoll, a resident of Osage since 1920 was employed by the Darrell Armstrong tucking company, Austin, Minn. He was driving a double-deck semi-trailer loaded with hogs from St. Paul for delivery at Austin. He lost control of the vehicle when it struck the guard rail of an overpass.
Born in Bradford, Illinois, in 1908, he was married to Genevieve Mayer. She died last February.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. William (Patsy) Black, San Bernardino, Calif.; two grandchildren, his father, John, and a brother, Jerry, both of Osage; four sisters, Mrs. Sanford Start, Leroy, Minn; Mrs. Louis Weinberger, Miss Sarah Driscoll, Mrs. Frances Mitchell, all Osage.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Champion Funeral home. Rites will be held in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage.Mason City Globe Gazette, April 30, 1963
