John Palm, Well-
Known Mona Man
Died Last Week

John Palm, one of the best known residents of Mona, passed away at his home last week, after suffering poor health for a year, and acute illness for about six weeks. About a month ago, when his condition became serious, he was taken to an Austin hospital, but was beyond help.

Mr. Palm was 73 years of age. When a young man, he and his wife came from Sweden (in 1882) and settled at Carpenter. There they lived for many years, later moving to his late Mona home. Mrs. Palm passed away ten years ago, and his daughter Alma, has kept house for him.

Another daughter, Miss Ida Palm, clerked for a number of years in the Bert A. Day Store (now Jackson Store) and made her home with the Louis Huesselmanns. She is now a nurse in the Austin hospital, and helped care for her father during his last illness. Another child, a son, Adolph, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, survives, besides his sister, Mrs. Will J. G. Larson, of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held at Mona Friday at 2 o'clock, and burial was made at Deer Creek beside his wife and three children the latter of whom passed away in infancy.
