Former Osage Girl,
Died At Waterloo

Miss Mayme Egan died at a Waterloo hospital last Thursday morning, following a three-months illness. Miss Egan's local relatives, including Miss Mary Kelley, her cousin, had visited her just recently, and knew that the end was near. Her final illness developed from an operation performed a year ago.

Mayme E. Egan was born June 7, 1892, at Osage, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Egan. She spent her early girlhood here, later moving with her folks to St. Paul, where she completed her high school work and a business course.

She moved to Waterloo nearly twenty years ago, and had attained a place of importance there. She was a cashier of the Galloway Company, having been with that firm during the entire time of her residence there.

Four consecutive terms she was elected regent of Castile Circle Daughters of Isabella, and under her leadership that organization became one of the most noteworthy in the state. Charity work of the circle had been especially outstanding.

Miss Egan was also prominently identified with the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters, and for one year held the presidency of the City Federation of Women's Clubs.

Surviving besides her mother are a brother, Donald, at home, and a sister, Mrs. L. E. Glaze, Cedar Heights.

Her father died in December, 1928, and a brother, LaVerne, preceded her in death in March, 1920.

Requiem mass was celebrated at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Reverend Fr. J. M. Mallow, pastor, in charge. Burial was at Elma, Iowa
