Vincent Bartle to
be Buried in Osage
Latter Part WeekVincent Bartle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Bartle, of Churdan, Iowa, former Osagers, was killed at Des Moines Sunday, and the body is to be brought to Osage the latter part of this week for burial in the family lot.
He was killed when his motorcycle crashed into the rear end of an automobile near the city. A 15 year old boy, Audrey Powell, who was riding with him, suffered serious injuries.
A telegram to William Bartle, a cousin to Vincent's father, stated that his (Everett's) mother, Mrs. Rose Bartle, and her daughter, Myrtle, are on their way from Los Angeles, California, and the funeral will not be held until they arrive. The grandmother will be well remembered here as Mrs. Jack Bartle as will her family. Her first husband (a brother to her present one, Al Bartle) is buried here in Osage. Other local relatives are Mrs. Lee Phillips, and her family.
The Everett Bartles live at Churdan, and have another son and a daughter. Vincent was graduated from the Churdan High Schools last spring.

#2:Norman Vincent Bartle
Norman Vincent Bartle, the eldest child of Mr. and Mrs. E. V. Bartle, was born at Floodwood, Minnesota, April 6, 1911, and died at Des Moines, Iowa, Sunday, March 22, 1931, at 4 o'clock p.m. at the age of 19 years, 11 months, and 16 days.
He went to Churdan, Iowa with his parents when 9 years old, and grew from childhood to young manhood there. He attended the grade school, and was graduated from the high school with the class of 1930.
Vincent was a very likable young man with a sunny disposition which made his acquaintances his friends who valued his friendship for it's true worth. In his home he was a congenial and kind to the extent of sacrifice, if needs be, for the pleasure of the other members of the family.
Vincent returned recently from a visit in California with relatives. Saturday preceding his untimely death, he took his boyfriend, Clifford Clipperton, with him on his motorcycle to Des Moines. The boys expected to return home Sunday afternoon. On Sunday afternoon Vincent took a lady friend for a motorcycle ride on the Indianola road, where the accident, which cost him his life and seriously injured the lady, occured.
Passing motorists took them to Broadlawn Hospital in Des Moines, but Vincent had passed to the great beyond before arriving at the hospital.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his father and mother, a brother, Clarence, aged 13; and a sister, Blanche, aged 10. [Trancated]
