Thomas Bascomb
Died At Ames

Fred Bascomb received word last night of the death of his father, Thomas Bascomb, at the home of Mrs. Tom Fuller at Ames. The body will be brought to Stacyville, and funeral services will be held there, but at this time no time has been set.

Mr. Bascomb was a long-time resident of Stacyville, coming there from England in 1878 and living there until the death of his wife six years ago March 1st. Since that time he has been with his daughter at Ames. He would have been 87 years old had he lived until next Sunday.

BASCOMBE RITES
HELD IN CHURCH

Aged Resident Who Died at
Ames Is Buried at
Stacyville.

STACYVILLE, March 7. — Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Methodist church for Thomas Bascombe, 87, who died Tuesday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Thomas Fuller, at Ames.

Mr. Bascombe was born March 8, 1844, in England. On July 27, 1869, he was married to Sarah Bullen**. Early in 1873 they came to this country.

Less than two months after their arrival here they lost both children. Two other children were born to them, both of whom survive, Fred Bascombe, Osage, and Mrs. Thomas Fuller, Ames.

Mrs. Bascombe died March 1, 1925.

The Rev. Mr. Crowder, Cedar Falls, many years ago a pastor here, had charge of the funeral services. Burial was in the cemetery here.

**Findagrave.com says her maiden name was Beillen, not Bullen, as the newspaper stated.
