Dell Miniger Died
After Operation in
Rochester HospitalOsage friends paid their last tribute to a former outstanding Osage girl Tuesday afternoon, when they attend the funeral, at the Universalist Church, of Dell Miniger, who passed away Saturday at Rochester, following an operation performed there ten days before.
From Rochester the body was taken to Minneapolis for cremation, then brought to Osage for funeral services and burial Tuesday. The Reverand Frank W. Miller had charge of the services.
Dell was born in Osage on Christmas Day, 1892, the only child of Herman and Kate Miniger. She was educated in the Osage schools, being graduated from the high school at the age of 17, and from the commercial department of the Cedar Valley Seminary a year later.
She was a young woman of keen mental grasp, and soon acquired a reputation locally as an office assistant. She worked for the firm of Stoughton & Brown for the Mitchell County Savings Bank, served as deputy county clerk, then went to Minneapolis to take a position with the Federal Reserve Bank.
Later her parents moved to Waterloo, and she accepted a fine secretarial position there. A few years ago she was overtaken by poor health, and was obliged to submit to an operation. She recovered from this and went back to work again, then just recently she was obliged to again see relief through surgery.
Dell was greatly interested in girl's work, having charge of a group of campfire girls in her church, and taking an active interest in Y.W.C.A. work.
A number of Waterloo friends including twenty Y.W.C.A. girls were here to attend the funeral.
