DR. T. E. BLONG

STACYVILLE - Dr. T.E. Blong, 93, formerly of Stacyville, died Thursday (April 20, 2000) at St. Therese's Rehabilitation Center in New Hope, Minn.

He was born March 30, 1907 at St. Lucas, Iowa. Dr. T.E. Blong practiced medicine in Stacyville for 35 years.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville, with the Rev. John Moser officiating. Interment will be in Visitation Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville.

Memorials may be directed to the Visitation Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Effie Blong, of DelRay Beach, Fla.; five children, Elaine Blake, of Houston, Texas, Ted Blong, of Woodbury, Minn., Carol Charbonneau, of Woodbury, Minn., Ruth Haggerty, of Edina, Minn. and John Blong, of Eldridge; one brother, Dr. Joe Blong, of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Betty Scheckle, of Phoenix, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Blong.

Champion Funeral Home, 702 State St. in Osage is in charge of arrangements.
