Longtime Resident
of County Died

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage, for Mrs. Abbie Morey, 90, who died at a Cresco hospital March 22. Mrs. Morey, longtime resident of Osage, has been a resident of a Cresco nursing home for 10 years.

The Rev. Bjorn H. Thorlakson, interim pastor of the Baptist church in Osage, was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Osage cemetery.

Mary Abbie Weaverling was born March 15, 1875, in Andalusia, Illinois, the daughter of James and Mary Weaverling. Coming with her family to the Osage vicinity, she completed her education in the public schools here, and also attended the Cedar Valley seminary.

Her marriage to Harry Bartlet Morey took place April 25, 1895, in Osage. They established their home here. She was a member of the Baptist church for 71 years, was also affilated with Bethany chapter of Eastern Star.

Mrs. Morey is survived by three daughers, Mrs. Irene Zak and Mrs Adelia Quinby of Pama, Ohio; Mrs. Harold Seeber, Chandler, Ariz.; two grand-sons; and four great-granchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Eliza Weaverling and Mrs Ada Togue of Amhurst, Mass.

Mr. Morey died May 17, 1958, at Good Samaritan Home in Cresco. Her parents and one brother, Jimmy also preceded her in death.
