Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth L. Hendrickson, 83, who died Wednesday, April 11, 1956 at the home of her son, Morris near St. Ansgar, were held Saturday, April 14 at the First Lutheran church with the Rev. O.A. Langehough officiating.

Elizabeth Lorene Sattre Hendrickson, the daughter of Peter and Martha Sattre was born near Ossian, Iowa, July 24th, 1872. She was baptized and later confirmed at the Stavenger Lutheran Church near Ossian by the Rev. U. Koren. She atteded the public schools in that vicinity and later studied and worked in a dressmaking shop in Ossian.

September 26, 1894, she was united in marriage with Hendrick O. Hendrickson at the Stavenger Lutheran church near Ossian. They then established their home on a farm west of St. Ansgar where they resided until they moved into their new home in St. Ansgar in 1927. Mr. Hendrickson passed away on November 1, 1949.

Mrs. Hendrickson continued living in her home until July 1953 when she sold it and moved to International Falls, Minn. to make her home with her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Abbott.

She became ill while visiting at the home of her son, M.B. Hendrickson at St. Ansgar, and died April 11, 1956 at the age of 83 years, after several weeks of illness.

Six children were born to this union: Otto, St. Ansgar; Morris, St. Ansgar; Roy, Washington, D.C., Esther, International Falls, Minn. Two sons died in infancy.

She is survived by her children, eight grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. H.O. Thorson, Madison, Minn., one brother L.P. Sattre, Madison, Minn. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Ladies' Aid, Cemetery Society, and Circle.

Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Langehough in charge of committal services.
