Rites Monday for Riceville Truck Victim
RICEVILLE, IOWA - Funeral services for Larry Stephenson, two-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Stephenson,who was fatally injured Saturday under a truck on the farm tenanted by the Stephensons four miles west and two miles south of Riceville, were Monday afternoon at LeRoy, Minn.
The truck was being backed in the farm yard by the child's father, who thought that Larry was in the house asleep. Instead he had been brought out into the yard to play by Mrs. Stephenson, unknown to the father.
Larry was rushed to the office of a Riceville physician, who said Larry died instantly of a crushed skull
The farm is owned by E. K. Hendricks of Riceville. Larry was an only child.
Surviving besides the parents are the maternal grandparents. Mrs. Anna Johnson, LeRoy, and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Stephenson, Riceville.

KILLED WHEN HIT
BY TRUCK SATURDAYFuneral services for Larry Stephenson, two-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Stephenson of Riceville, were held at LeRoy, Minnesota, Monday afternoon, with burial in the LeRoy cemetery.
The child was fatally injured at about 2:30 o'clock last Saturday afternoon, under a truck which his father was backing from its position near the barn. The child's father thought that Larry was in the house asleep, but he had been brought out into the yard to play by Mrs. Stephenson, unknown to the father.
Larry was rushed to the office of a Riceville physician who said the child died instantly of a crushed skull.
The accident occurred on the farm tenanted by the Stephensons, four mile west and two miles south of Riceville.
Neighbors of the Stephensons held a cultivating bee Wednesday to assist Mr. Stephenson with his work. Mr. and Mrs. Stephenson are spending a few days this week with relatives at Clear Lake.
