Betsy Louise (Larson) Schoger, 1859-1928,

Betsy Louise Schoger was born in Freeborn County, Minnesota on March 25, 1859.

In 1864 she came with her parents to Iowa and located on a farm in Cedar Township, Mitchell County. On October 30, 1879 she entered into matrimony with Andrew Schoger of this community. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota, where they lived about eight years.

Returning to Iowa, they located on their farm in Cedar Township, where she continued to live until about eight years ago. Later she moved to her farm in Rock Township, on which place she made her home until the time of her death.

In her wedlock, six children were born. Of these children, the following survive: Mrs. Peter (Anne) Paulson and Alfred Schoger, both of this community, and Mrs. Andrew (Mathilda) Wamstad, of St. Paul, Minnesota. Two brothers, Peter and Lewis Larson, both of this community also survive.

The departed sister was baptized, confirmed, and married in the Lutheran Church and has always been an active and exemplary member of the Rock Creek Lutheran congregation.

During the last four years of her life, her health has gradually been failing. She died on June 2, 1928. Heart and liver trouble was the cause of her death.

Funeral services were held in the Rock Creek Lutheran Church on June 5, 1928 with the Rev. O.C. Myhre officiating. Interment was made in the Rock Creek Lutheran cemetery.
