Margaret Gladys (Wright) Schaub, 1904-2003
Funeral services for Margaret Gladys (Wright) Schaub were held on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at the United Methodist Church in Northwood, Iowa. The Reverend Richard Jensen officiated. Burial was in Sunset Rest Cemetery in Northwood. Margaret died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003 at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood.
Margaret Schaub was born Jan. 12, 1904 in Northwood to Edward D. & M. Julia (Mitchell) Wright. She attended schools in Iowa, Washington and Minnesota. She attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls and taught several years in Worth County Schools.
She married Earl D. Schaub of Kensett on Nov. 28, 1927 in Motley, Minnesota.
Margaret was active in 4-H, Red Cross, United Methodist Church women's organizations and Eastern Star. She loved gardening and had done extensive research on her family history. Margaret lived in her own home until October 2003 and was looking forward to her 100th birthday party with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sons Roger Schaub in infancy and Russell Schaub in 2003, her brother Donald Wright and brother-in-law Elmer Helgeland.
Margaret's survivors include her daughter Ruth (Albert) Robb of Northwood, sons Kenneth (Karen) Schaub of Austin, Minnesota, James (Carol) Schaub of Northwood and daughter-in-law Joan Schaub of Westfield Center, Ohio.
Other survivors include her sister Dorothy Helgeland, sister-in-law Edith Wright, grandchildren Julie (Peter) Faria, Penny Robb, Dan (Julie) Robb, Mary (CK) Christianson, Tracy (Jeannie) Robb, Kasey (Sharon) Schaub, Tina Schaub and Chuck Schubert, Matt (Dana) Schaub, Heather (Jared) Brown, Diana Schaub, Kathy (Stephen) Rudolph, great-grandchildren Michael Mogk, Isaac (Jenn) Mogk, Calsee Robb, Tyson Robb, Bryan Christianson, Bradley (Jennie ) Christianson, Kerby Christianson, Jacob Robb, Katie Brown, Kimberly Brown and Karter Schaub, great-great-grandsons Garrick and Damon Mogk. There are also several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar and Northwood, was in charge of arrangements.
