VETERAN OF IOWA JUDICIAL SERVICE IS DEAD AT OSAGE
Judge J. F. Clyde, on Bench 16 years, in First Iowa U. Law Class
OSAGE, IOWA- Aug. 18.—Judge J. F. Ctyde, for 16 years a member of the bench for this judicial district and formerly state senator, died early this morning at, his home here, age 77.
-- In First Iowa Law Class --
Judge Clyde was graduated from the State University of Iowa with the first law class of that in the first law class of that institution. He was elected state senator and as such served in the twenty-third Iowa assembly. In addition to his leadership in legal and political matters, he was prominently identified with work of the local Baptist Church and Masonic order.
-- Long County Resident --
He had spent most of his life in this county and, with Mrs. Clyde, welcomed many friends and congratulatory messages a few weeks ago on the occasion of their fiftieth wedding anniversary.
-- Widow, Five Children --
Surviving are the widow and these children; Mary and Frank, Osage; Ray and Arthur, who are connected with the state college at Ames, and Mrs. Flora Danforth, Washington, D.C.
Arrangements have not been completed for the funeral.
