OBITUARY: Arno Lee Ball
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Champion Funeral Home for an Osage resident, Arno Ball, 54, who died Tuesday at Mitchell County Memorial hospital. His death was caused by a heart attack. He had been in ill health for about a year his condition becoming worse in the past week.
The Rev. Wesley Anderson will be in charge of the services. Arrangements are being made by C. R. Champion and Sons, and burial will be in the Osage cemetery.
Arno Lee Ball was born Nov. 23, 1911, at LeRoy, the son of Arthur H. and Sarah Elizabeth Clark Ball. As a child he moved with his family to a farm west of Osage.
His marriage to Hazel L. Heller of Osage took place July 20, 1935. They established their home in the Osage area, remaining here most of their married life. Mr. Ball was a member of the Baptist church in Osage. He was an employee of the City of Osage.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel, two daughters, Donita, Mrs. Clyde Johnson of Orchard and Lodema, Mrs. Jim Cockrum of Osage; one son, Merlyn of Algona; four grandchildren; one brother, Warren Ball of Austin and one sister, Ada, Mrs. Lawrence Zerck of Albert Lea.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, who died in infancy.
