MRS. BEN MOUW DEAD
Madge Mouw, 99, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, died on February 25, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 5, 2008 at United Methodist Church in St. Ansgar, with the Reverend Peter Chang officiating.
Madge Mouw was born on September 14, 1908 to Charles and Minna (Larson) Hughes in Erhardt, Minnesota. She graduated from Fergus Falls High School.
Madge worked at the Grain Exchange in Minneapolis where she met Ben Mouw. Madge was united in marriage to Ben in 1949.
Madge sang with the Minneapolis Opera, she was a charter member of the Hyechka Music Federated Club. She also played organ and sang in the church choir for many years. Madge was also instrumental in the planning of the Sunrise Easter Worship Service for many years.
Madge also worked at the elementary school as a secretary for many years.
Madge was a world traveler, and enjoyed every minute of it! It was also known that Madge had her own “Bucket List” of thngs she wanted to do, and accomplished many of them including hot air ballooning.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ben, brothers Ralph, Fred, James, Max and Walter; and by her sisters: Edith, Ruth, Bernice (Dolly) and Mary Ellen.
Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, is in charge of arrangements.
