Funeral services for Al Halverson, 83, who died at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center December 6, 1978, were held December 9 at the First Lutheran church here with the Rev. Stephen Engelstad officiating.

Mr. Halverson was born September 11, 1895 in Maynard, Minn., the son of Andrew and Lena Halverson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended school in Minnesota. He was a member of the First Lutheran church, St. Ansgar. He lived in the Waukon and Decorah areas before coming to Osage where he was in the auto salvage business until his retirement in 1960.

Mr. Halverson married Teresa Durbin October 25, 1939. Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister who died in infancy.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa; three step children, Mrs. William Lonergan, Edgar Hendricksen and Vernon Durbin; two sisters, Mrs. E.H. Johnson and Mrs. Frank Bladgen.

Burial was in First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Engelstad in charge of committal services.
