Funeral services for Irvin Laurence Halvorson, 90, who died Wednesday, March 5, 1986, were held Saturday, March 8 at the First Lutheran church with the Rev. Thomas Hughes officiating.

Mr. Halvorson was born September 20, 1895 to Andrew and Lucinda Halvorson, the eleventh of 12 children, on the homestead farm south of St. Ansgar in Newburg Township. He attended Newburg school and was a lifetime member of the First Lutheran church where he was baptized and confirmed.

He was a World War I veteran and a member of the St. Ansgar American Legion Walter T. Enneberg Post No. 358.

Mr. Halvorson was a cream hauler for the St. Ansgar Creamery in addition to farming the family farm until his retirement. He moved to St. Ansgar in 1974 where he lived until about two weeks ago when he went to the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center.

He is survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Lydia Halvorson of Austin, Minn. and many nieces and nephews.

Burial was in the Riverview Cemetery south of St. Ansgar, with Rev. Hughes in charge of the committal services.

Funeral services for Irvin Laurence Halvorson were held on Saturday, march 8, 1986 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar, Iowa, with Rev. T. Hughes officiating.

Irvin was born September 20, 1895 to Andrew and Lucinda Halvorson, the 11th of 12 children on the homestead farm south of St. Ansgar, Iowa, in Newburg Township. He attended Newburg school and was a lifetime member of the first Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed. he was a World War I veteran and a member of the American Legion in St. Ansgar.

Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar is in charge of arrangements.
