RICEVILLE — Carl J. Blake, 43, formerly of Riceville, died in Morgan, Minn. on Sunday, (April 17, 2005).

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Riceville at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Ray E. Atwood officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Riceville.

Friends may call at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville today during the hours of 4 to 8 p.m. There will be a rosary recited at 4:30 p.m. and a scripture service at 6 p.m. this evening.

Carl Joseph Blake, 1962-2005

A mass of the resurrection was held for Carl J. Blake, age 43, formerly of Riceville, Iowa, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville on Wednesday, April 20, 2005. The Reverend Ray E. Atwood officiated.

Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery, Riceville. Carl passed away in Morgan, Minnesota, on Sunday, April 17, 2005.

Carl Joseph Blake was born in Charles City, Iowa on Feb. 1, 1962 to James and Genevieve (Retterath) Blake. Carl graduated from Riceville High School in 1980. He worked as a livestock manager and raised and bred parrots.

Carl was preceded in death by his mother Genevieve in 2002.

His survivors include his father James of Riceville; three brothers Michael of Iowa City, Steven and his wife Carolyn of Shakopee, Minn., and William of Atlanta, Georgia. Also surviving are five sisters: Ann Kindschuh of Shakopee, Minn.; Karen Hartman and her husband Dale; Rose Gansen and her husband Dale; Cynthia Houser and her husband Thomas and Marilyn Blake and her partner Mark Schultz, all of Riceville and many nieces and nephews.

Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville was in charge of arrangements.
