Clinton Carrison Killed in Accident
Well Known HereClinton Carrison, 70, well-known Mitchell county man, lost his life in a farm accident last Thursday forenoon. Mr. Carrison was at his farm in Burr Oak township northeast of Osage, at the time. He was riding on the corn cutter attached to the tractor. How the accident happened will never be known, but he was found by Mr. Counsell, a neighbor; taken to Memorial hospital in Osage and died a few minutes after he was admitted.
All of the clothing with the exception of his shoes had been stripped from his body and he had been dragged for some distance.
Mr. Carrison owned some 600 acres of land in Mitchell county and had been active in farm and community affairs all of his life. He moved to Osage after his marriage to Mrs. Hazel Moody-Clyde about 10 years ago from one of his farms.
Mr. Carrison was born in Wisconsin, near Stoughton, and came to Osage as a young man. His first wife, Ida Barker (sister to Mrs. Arthur Minnis), died 12 years ago. They were the parents of five children, all of whom survive their father. They are: Mrs. Brodie Mitchell, Harold Carrison, Mrs. George Smolik, Osage; Mrs. Vernon Hoisington, Orchard; Mrs. Royden Putman, Arlington, Iowa. Also surviving are his wife and two stepchildren.
Funeral service was held Saturday afternoon at the Christian Alliance church at Osage and burial was made in the Osage cemetery.
