STEENSON, KNUDSON, OLSON, PIKE

Knud Steenson, son of Steen and Ingeborg Knudson, was born in Numedalen, Norway, on the second day of September, 1849, and died in Austin, Minn., on August 19, 1928 at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 13 days. He emigrated to the United States with his parents in 1860. They first settled in Clayton county, Iowa, and in 1864 moved to Mitchell county, and settled near St. Ansgar. On December 17, 1881, he was united in marriage to Anna Mary Olson in Osage, Iowa, and they located on a farm in Deer Creek township in Worth county, Iowa, where they resided until March, 1912, when they moved to Austin.

Mr. Steenson was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church.

He leaves to mourn his death his wife, and four children, Stina Pike and Anna Steenson of Austin, Ingwald Steenson of Drayton, N. Dak., and Clarence Steenson of Minneapolis. One son, Oscar, died in 1917 at the age of 14 years. He is also survived by one brother, Anulf Steenson; who resides in St. Paul.

He was a kind and thoughtful husband and father and an honest and upright citizen.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. H. Noss yesterday afternoon at the home, 1004 West Winona Street and interment was made in the Lutheran cemetery at St. Ansgar, Iowa, beside his parents.

The following offerings to missions were made in his memory; Mrs. Anton Johnson, $2; Mr. and Mrs. John Johnson and family $2; J.E. Anderson, $1; L.A. Aurdal, $1.
