Randall John "Randy" Hendrickson

Randall John "Randy" Hendrickson, 50, of Grand Island, Nebraska, died March 9, 2010, at a VA medical facility in Omaha, Nebraska, having fought a long battle with heart disease.

There will be no visitation as Randy's family is honoring his wish for cremation.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17, at the Nora Springs Catholic Community Center, 165 S Summit Ave., Nora Springs, with the Rev. David Kucera officiating.
Full military rites will be conducted by the Nora Springs American Legion H.D.S. Post No. 449.

Mr. Hendrickson was born on January 2, 1960, at Osage, Mitchell county, Iowa, to Gerald and Alice (Neubauer) Hendrickson. Randy was raised and attended school in Mason City, and Nora Springs.

He entered the Army in June 1980, and was honorably discharged August 1990. He worked in sales and owned and operated a computer business until he became ill in 2005.

Randy loved his children and looked forward to spending time with them. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors; sailing in the ocean, fishing, hiking in the mountains and riding his Harley. He also enjoyed watching football, especially the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He had a deep religious faith.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Dylan Hendrickson, and by his grandparents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Tiffany Hendrickson of Clearfield, Utah, Eric Hendrickson and Chantal Hendrickson of St. Petersburg, Florida; his parents of Mason City; sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda (Ron) Berding of Manly, Linda (Rick) Dunham of Grand Island, Nebraska, Cheryl (David) Rottinghaus of Nora Springs; a brother and sister-in-law, Mark (Karen) Hendrickson, of Mason City. Other survivors include a grandson, Drevin Hendrickson, of Clearfield, Utah; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
