Earhart, Margaret December 8, 1931

Mrs. Will Earhart Passed Away Tues. After Long Illness -- Margaret Cowan was born in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, on April 10, 1848. Her early life was spent in Toledo, Ohio, where her marriage took place on July 1, 1868, to William Earhart.

Mr. and Mrs. Earhart came to Iowa and lived in Charles City in 1869. Since then they have lived in Mason City, Algona and Waverly for short periods. In 1880 they moved to Osage, where they have lived since.

Nine children were born to this union, two having died in infancy. Mary Shoonover and Anna Douglas preceded their mother in death. Those surviving to mourn the departure of thier mother ar the husband and four daughters: Mrs. Austin Laughlin, Mrs. E.O. Charlesworth and Mrs. R. H. Moss, all of Osage; Mrs. C.R. Cherney, of Shenandoah; and Mrs. R. R. Roberts, of Britt, Iowa.

There are eighteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Earhart has been ill over a period of three years. Her passing came on Tuesday, December 8.

Outstanding of her virtues has been her complete devotion to her home and family and to her circle of friends.
