This community was greatly shocked Saturday morning when it was learned that Mrs. Roy Grace had passed away. Mrs. Grace had given birth to twin babies Friday evening. The mother and both babies passed away a few hours later, leaving this community robbed of a noble woman. She leaves to mourn her going her husband, two sons, one daughter, her father and mother and one brother, besides many other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 1:30 at the home, two miles southeast of McIntire, and at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church in McIntire.

Laura May Funte was born December 22, 1897, in Douglas township, Mitchell County, and passed away February 3, 1933, at her home east of McIntire, aged 35 years, 1 month and 12 days. She was the eldest child of William and Orpha Funte.

Her early life was spent on the farm near New Haven, and when nearly eleven she moved, with her parents, to their present home, near McIntire.

She attended the McIntire school during her girlhood and graduated from high school in 1915. The fall of 1916 she entered I.S.T.C. at Cedar Falls for the twelve-weeks training course. Later she taught Oakdale No. 5 for several terms. During these years she made many life-long friends with her cheerful ways.

April 30, 1919, Laura was united in marriage with Roy B. Grace. The happy couple moved immediately to the Grace homestead, where they have spent their married life together. To them were born three children: Harley, Earl and Ruth. These children, with her husband, parents and one brother, Glen, are left to mourn the loss of a tireless mother, faithful wife, and loving daughter and sister.

While an infant Laura was baptized in the Congregational faith at the Stillwater church, south of New Haven. Deprived the privilege of attending the church of her choice through the later years of busy wife and mother, owing to no near Congregational, she aided whomever needed help and scattered good deeds and acts of kindness wherever necessary.

She was an interested and ardent working in the ladies' home project club, and a loyal member of Victoria Chapter, O.E.S. at Riceville.

Through the years she trained many fingers at their first piano lessons and was to have given a lesson the day she left us.

The bereavement was unexpected and consequently a great shock to the whole community. She was only ill a few hours, leaving this earthly life at 10:45 Friday evening, due to puerperal hemorrhage taking with her two other tiny spirits.
