OSAGE, IOWA - Roman F. Gerk, 78, died Sunday, July 13, 1997, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. John Hemann officiating. Burial will be in Visitation Cemetery, Stacyville.

Visitation was held after 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Champion Funeral Home with a rosary at 3 p.m. and Scripture service at 7:30 p.m. and a Catholic Order of Foresters Rosary at 8 p.m.

Roman was born July 4, 1919, in Stacyville, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Alice of Osage; four daughters, Dorothy Kern of Des Moines; Ruth Gerk of Des Moines; Mary Koch of Des Moines, and Elaine Landherr of Stacyville; four sons, James Gerk of Osage; Kenneth Gerk of Osage; Thomas Gerk of Osage and Steven Gerk of Osage; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
